Philippines 09/10

During December 2009 Sa Bom Nim Connor and his family traveled on invitation by the Philippine MDK to visit the cities of Bacolod, Bohol and Davao. The aim of this trip was to conduct standardization seminars to assist the Philippines MDK in staying up to date with the dynamically developing world MDK techniques. It was a successful trip as it was well attended and the practitioners enjoyed participating in the seminars.

Firstly SBN Connor and his family traveled to Bacolod where they trained at Sir Windel’s gym. They were privileged and honoured to be offered the opportunity to train with the founder of Philippine Soo Bahk Do found Master Chingi Grandeza, who imparted a vast range of his repertoire to the family. He covered effective self defence techniques for women and weaponry exposing the family to his wisdom and his passion. Sir Windel’s students were a pleasure to teach as they diligently listened to SBN Connor teaching the 5 Moo Do values and standardized techniques.

Bohol, Tagbilaran was another destination in Philippines which SBN Connor and his family trained to standardize techniques and further spread the Moo Duk Kwan values. The Bohol SBD ensured that the family enjoyed the training experience aswell as the wondrous sites and views of the city.

Lastly, the most time was spent in Davao with the Grandeza family and the Sir Master Mario Palazuelo. The family was accommodated in a very hospitable way and Sir Master Mario enriched SBN Connor’s knowledge of Arnis. Also, SBN Connor was privileged enough to experience a Dan Shim Sa of Twinkle Jardinal and was impressed by the high caliber and standard at which she performed. SBN was lucky to spend his birthday in Davao and also receive the notification that he has passed his O Dan grading. During this period SBN Bing held a ceremony to celebrate this important occasion for SBN Connor. He appreciated the Philippine MDK’s generosity. To conclude his trip SBNC visited Sir Jun Lee Wag’s Do Jang where once again standardizing and the imparting of the 5 MDK values was imparted to his students. Suffice to say, the Philippine MDK were very enjoyable.
